Saint Demetrios was born in Thesaloniki, Greece in 270 AD. He came from a wealthy family and because he was athletic in appearance and heroic in spirit, he became a high ranking officer in the Roman Army at a very young age.
He considered himself a soldier of Christ first, and a military soldier second. He spent most of his time as a devout missionary, preaching the Gospel at secret meetings and converting pagans to the Christian faith.
The sequence of creating the image is largely identical to the work on the hand painting icon and consists of several stages. This is an exact copy of a Byzantine hagiography.
The subjects are taken from originals in museums and monasteries.
The icon is stylized as a traditional old Greek icon.
They are processed and replicated with high detail and top quality with respect to the Byzantine tradition and style. All Icon panels are covered with Natural Oak Wood and the reproduction is according to Museum print standards. The background is made of Gold leaves which are applied by hand. In the back there is also wall Hacking and Mounting point.
